In making this dance, I drew inspiration from the land, the Iowa prairie, and the people in my family who first turned its soil more than 130 years ago. Having grown up in Iowa it seemed only fitting that I return to make a dance about the women who came before me. “Threshold” documents the past, but also carries a new story into the future–a story told by our every step, gesture and breath.
