Members of MAAM possess a wide range of interests and abilities.  They include those who restore and maintain our growing collection of aircraft, volunteer time at airshows and at the Museum, and provide much-needed financial support.  All members share the common desire to preserve an irreplaceable part of aviation history.  If you haven't already taken the tour, you can learn about our Museum and our Mission on these web pages.  We cordially welcome all those who would like to further these goals by becoming members.

The Mid-Atlantic Air Museum is not just a collection of aircraft and artifacts - it's people.   Our MAAM Members are the heart, hands, and life-blood of our organization.  Without them we would not continue to exist.   So if you agree with us that preserving the history of Mid-Atlantic Aviation is important, then you belong here!

It's a bargain! 

Basic individual membership in the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum is only $45 per year!   That's only about the price of one tank of gas, these days.  As a new member you will receive a member's packet including your membership card, a 'Member's Update' newsletter subscription, a MAAM decal, an embroidered patch and logo pin.    But you get a lot more than that for your 45 bucks...

	FREE, UNLIMITED ADMISSION TO THE MUSEUM Bored with TV?  Want to escape noisy kids, neighbors, barking dogs?  Just want to get away from the same old, same old routine?   The Museum is open everyday except major holidays.  You're always welcome, and you don't pay the normal $6 per visit admission.  Unlike the local pub, we won't toss you out for not buying anything, either.  What a deal!  Every time you visit MAAM you'll learn something new about aviation and the pioneering men and women who gave us wings.
	A FREE PASS TO THE MAAM'S ANNUAL WORLD WAR II WEEKEND This is a $22 value all by itself.   If you choose to volunteer to work at the show, you get in free of course, but you still get that free pass to use on another day when you don't volunteer. NOTE:  New memberships received after May 10 will not be processed until July 1 because of the workload of WWII Weekend and therefore will not receive a free ticket to this year's show..
	FREE ADMISSION AT THE ANNUAL MAAM MEMBER'S DAY Bring your family and friends to the yearly Member's Day.  It takes place right on the MAAM ramp and Pavilion and is MAAM's fun way of saying thanks to its Members and their families for everything they do for us.  All you can eat barbecue, all day, for just $12 for adults, and free for kids under 12.  Reduced price airplane rides and special tours as well as 10% discount for Members on anything in the Gift Shop.  With good enough appetites, your youngsters ought to be able to get your $45 worth at this event alone!
	THE PRIVILEGE OF FLYING ABOARD MUSEUM AIRCRAFT TO WORK AT AIRSHOWS How does the opportunity to fly aboard the best restored B-25 Mitchell in the world sound to you?  If you sign up and are selected to work an airshow, you can fly as a crew member on 'Briefing Time' or another of MAAM's star airshow performers, like the Douglas R4D (DC-3) or the TBM 'Avenger' when they travel to perform at airshows around the country.  We never sell rides on these aircraft or allow non-members to fly in them.  In the case of some, like the B-25 and TBM, the interiors are never even open to the public.  So, this is a very rare and valuable privilege.
	ENTRY TO OFF-LIMITS-TO-THE-PUBLIC AREAS OF THE MUSEUM Would you love to get a close-up look at some of the aircraft being worked on in the MAAM Restoration Shop?  You'll see rare planes such as the Kellet KD1 Autogiro or the Kinner 'Sportster', being restored out of sight of museum visitors.  The "Members Only" sign on the shop door says it all.
	10% DISCOUNT ON MUSEUM STORE MERCHANDISE You can choose from hundreds of items in the Museum Shop, and even more at our On-line Store.  Your discount applies to everything except membership renewal, WWII Weekend Tickets, WWIIWE T-shirts, Airplane Rides, or Museum Donations.
	PARTICIPATION IN MEMBER'S TRIPS AND EXCURSIONS Every year Museum Members sign up for special excursions.   Members Excursions have included trips to the USAF Museum in Dayton; Chesapeake Bay cruises aboard the restored Liberty Ship, USS Brown; NASM Udvar Hazey Center, Dulles Int'l Airport, and many more interesting and exciting destinations.  Check out this page on the 2001 US Intrepid Air and Space Museum, New York City trip for an example.
	THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE PART IN THE PRESERVATION OF AVIATION HISTORY Your dues will help support the restoration programs of the museum.  But perhaps you would also like to actually roll your sleeves up and volunteer.  You don't need experience if you have a willing attitude.  MAAM is a busy place with a number of projects going on at any one time.  We can put your talents to work, even if you don't think you have any.  There is always a need volunteers to help out.  If you would like to become a Museum Docent or Tour Guide, we'll train you for this interesting and rewarding occupation.  The Gift Shop and Office Volunteers are also on the front line at MAAM.  If you love planes, people, or both, we have a job for you!

Just as there is a variety of needs which must be met for the continued operation and growth of the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, there exists in our members a wide variety of interest levels and financial capabilities to support these needs.  The MAAM Membership Program is designed to provide both an affordable basic level with extensive benefits, and also higher levels of membership for those willing and able to increase their support.
