Wildcard Introduction
In our inaugural year we had some great battles for first place in the qualifying events, and lots of fantastic dancers entered for a chance to dance in the finale at the US Open Swing Dance Championships. This year we’ve added another opportunity for dancers to get into the finale: The Wildcard!
Every time a dancer enters the Golden Ticket Tour at one of the qualifier events, they get a point towards securing the wildcard spot. The further you advance in a given Golden Ticket Tour qualifier, the more points you score! Here’s the breakdown…
1st Place: Advance to Finale (no wildcard)
2nd Place: 10 Wildcard Points
3rd Place: 8 Wildcard Points
4th Place: 6 Wildcard Points
Quarter Finalist (Elite 8): 4 Wildcard Points
Finalist (Sweet 16): 2 Wildcard Points
All Entrants: 1 Wildcard Point
