The Percival David Foundation exists to promote the study and teaching of Chinese Art and culture. Its unique collection of Chinese ceramics and its library of East Asian and Western books related to Chinese art were both presented to the University of London in 1950 by the collector and scholar Sir Percival David.

In recent years the Percival David Foundation has considerably expanded its range of activities and has made its collection, which is already famous among scholars and connoisseurs of Chinese art, known to a wider audience
