A Walk on the Wild Side

My son Augie and I went on a hike recently. Aside from being able to spend some quality time together enjoying the beautiful California landscape and sunshine, I thought it would be a great way to return to the roots of my cooking. By this I mean, starting with plants that come from the earth. I knew just where I wanted to go. One Gun Ranch (it was given its name by the original owner; the bassist from Guns N’ Roses ) is an amazing 11 acre property located in Malibu with whom we have been forming an alliance to grow as many ingredients for Melisse as possible. This ranch practices, teaches and emphasizes stewardship of the soil and the quality products that are cultivated from the land.
