Dr. Karlene Arguinchona

Throughout her life, Karlene has been committed to service. She has utilized her medical training and skills throughout Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. A gifted mentor to young adults, she has significantly contributed to the growth and support of Krista Colleagues. She is committed to her family and enjoys spending time with a diverse community in the Spokane area. She enjoys outdoor activities from sailing to snowshoeing. Writing has become an essential and important aspect in her life. Check out her article in The Global Citizen, Volume 4: "A Thousand Eyes". The Krista Foundation has "encouraged and deepened my perspectives and interest of domestic and international affairs and ultimately provided a space for community, good conversation and friendship."

Aaron has worked as an international development practitioner in over two dozen countries. His diverse work has included launching a microfinance program in Bolivia, consulting a multinational mining corporation on their corporate social responsibility strategy, evaluating a multi-million dollar emergency response to the Indian Ocean tsunami, creating an econometric model to help combat corruption in Peru, and leading a team of operations auditors for a major development NGO. He is the founder and editor of The Global Citizen: a Journal for Young Adults Engaging the World Through Service, which is published by The Krista Foundation for Global Citizenship. He has a Masters in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. He was Krista's husband, and has been remarried to Gabriela Moreno Ausland since 2002; together they have two children. They currently live in Bogota, Colombia. Aaron's other interests include writing, public speaking, cooking, chess, distance running, and hand drums.

After serving the Spokane community for 10 years at Catholic Charities and 25 years at the Spokane County United Way, with 9 of those years as CEO and President Vic retired and now is serving in many different capacities. He is associated with the Council on Accreditation, Group Health Community Foundation, the Krista Foundation and any other Spokane organizations where his expertise is needed. He, along with his wife Joan enjoy cross country skiing, snowshoeing, reading historical fiction and current events. He is a strong supporter of year long service and servant leadership in communities. "I believe everyone has some special skill or expertise to serve the community and we have a social and civic responsibility to our communities."

Taudd Hume has been a long time friend of the Hunt family, growing up with Krista as her next door neighbor. His service opportunities through the Americorps VISTA program and other oversees opportunities have helped him grasp the mission and vision of the Krista Foundation. "The work of the Foundation fills an important and underserved niche that addresses the needs of the volunteer through the creation of a community of support. This is a novel concept in volunteerism, and one that has had profound impacts on its participants." In his spare time Taudd enjoys skiing, reading, playing golf, traveling and making wine.

Co-founder and initial director of the Krista Foundation, Linda taught writing in the English department at Whitworth University for twenty years where she also served as faculty director for their innovative Service-Learning program. A freelance writer and national speaker, her bestselling book Bold Spirit, a true story of a mother and daughter who walked across Victorian America (www.boldspiritacrossamerica.com), received regional and national awards. Mother of Krista, she finds gardening a source of healing and joy, and delights in friendships with Krista Colleagues.
