Ascension
Ascension – Urban Fantasy
Kyra Archer’s life is pretty darn good. She has a rewarding career in the FBI’s elite Special Investigations Unit solving supernatural crimes, deadly marksmen skills, and owns an 18th century farmhouse secluded in the woods. Sure, she doesn’t have a love life to speak of— who would with the strange hours she keeps? She gets plenty of affection from her two cats. What more can a girl ask for?
Yep, life is good. Until…
Kyra’s attacked by nightmare creatures on a moonlit road and rescued by a mysterious man who claims to be her guardian. Valerian’s job isn’t easy. He must convince a skeptical Kyra that one: she is not mortal and two: she has a larger destiny–to lead an exiled race of magical beings known as Aetherans. Valerian has already witnessed demons destroy his home realm, Aethera. And he will do everything in his power to ensure the same fate doesn’t befall Earth– even if it means dragging Kyra along kicking and screaming.
Overcoming the shock that she’s not even human is the least of Kyra’s problems. A magical plague is ripping through the Aetheran population with no cure and no hope for its victims. And a deranged elf, with delusions of grandeur, is hell bent on kidnapping her. Now, in order to survive, Kyra must harness the power locked inside of her while eluding a dangerous, relentless enemy who wants to claim her soul and unleash a new apocalypse.
