Total Landscape Care magazine named Darren Terry, owner of Nolin Lawn Service, as the winner of the Total Landscape Care 2011 Landscaper’s Dream Package sweepstakes.

Terry received a prize package of landscaping equipment and supplies worth more than $24,000 during Total Landscape Care’s Landscaper’s Dream Package Winner Event on Dec. 15. The event was hosted by Leitchfield Small Motors of Leitchfield, Kentucky, the local Dixie Chopper mower dealer in Terry’s area.

The package includes a Dixie Chopper riding mower ($7,350), a PBI Gordon certificate redeemable for turf and ornamental lawn care products ($3,500), an assortment of RedMax outdoor power equipment including a blower, trimmer, edger, sprayer and brushcutter, ($3,200), AlturnaMats ground protection mats ($3,000), a package of Corona professional landscaping tools ($2,000), a package of Gold Eagle products including STA-BIL and Start Your Engines ($1,500), PRO Landscape Design Software Version 17 from Drafix Software ($1,395), a selection of Flex-Drain drainage pipe and fittings ($1,500) and a Magna-Matic lawn mower blade sharpening system ($1,100).

“It was unbelievable to find out I won,” Terry says. “It will keep me from having to buy another mower, since the one I have now is almost worn out. It’s going to help further my business.”

Terry started his business in Clarkson, Kentucky, in 2002. Almost 80 percent of his business comes from lawn maintenance, and he also offers fertilizer services. The Dream Package will help Terry to better serve existing customers and will also help expand his business. Terry entered to win the Dream Package on the Total Landscape Care website and at the GIE+EXPO, a tradeshow for professional landscapers, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Launched in 2006, the Total Landscape Care Landscaper’s Dream Package sweepstakes is the only program of its kind that enables sponsors to promote their products with a unique method that complements traditional advertising. Total Landscape Care promotes the program extensively with print, online, direct mail and e-mail advertising. The entire package also is displayed annually at the GIE+EXPO trade show for professional landscapers. For the past five years, a lucky landscaper like Darren Terry has won a package of top-of-the line landscaping equipment and supplies that help grow their business.
