Berea College ranked #1 Liberal Arts College Washington Monthly has named Berea College as the nation’s top liberal arts college in its 2011 College Rankings. Berea was ranked number one because of its success in educating and graduating academically talented, low-income students who become service-oriented leaders in their professions and communities. Ruvimbo Violet Katiyo, '11, Makes Breakthrough in Fashion With less than a year after attaining her Bachelors in Chemistry from Berea College, Ruvimbo Violet Katiyo' 11; from Zimbabwe is convinced that she is ready to conquer the world and keep flying her nation’s flag high. Jack of all trades as we know her, Ruvimbo is also a designer, model, athlete and an artist. Mikita Weaver, ’08 (Pinnacle Spotlight) Mikita Weaver,’08, graduated magna cum laude from Berea College with a philosophy degree. At Berea, she enjoyed singing in the concert choir and working at CELTS as a Bonner Scholar. Joe Riffe, '03, is Determined to Pursue Dream A Louisville Metro paramedic, Joe Riffe, '03, is determined to get back to work after his leg was amputated.
