2012. Vive la rebellion!

This year we throw focus onto the outlier, the exception to every rule. We pop a high five to the rebellious spirit whose passion leads them away from the pack, taking risks, in pursuit of the extraordinary result. A result that throws a thunderbolt into still waters and ignites others to brew their own storm.

Imagine a world without it’s rebels. One homogenous flabby blob of humanity just staring at it's pasty navel, following and issuing orders because it worked before. It would be bland indeed if it even existed at all. This is the opportunity to openly admire, and celebrate the choices made that break the rules, that give cause for exile, for the chance at something bigger. Ground Breaking and Phenomenal.

Rebellion is the catalyst for innovation. It is the heartfelt courage to initiate change. In order for change to erupt we need support. We need inspiration. Control is not held by those in charge and a preconceived notion of the way things are done. Control is ultimately held by the doers.

You are the ones who do. And Øredev is gonna stroke the rebel in you.

Keeping with this theme, we ask you to focus on delivering your insight, a methodological approach or technical knowledge to our participants that can be put in their toolbox and put into practice when they go back to their daily work.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following

JavaScript, Agile Testing, Context-Driven Testing, Functional Programming, Algorithms , Cloud, Xtra(ck), Mobile Platforms, Business, Mobile Technics, Tools for Quality, Systems Thinking, Individual Productivity, Hands-On, Web Sites, Visualisation, Web Client, Server Side Web Tech, Rest, Data + Domain, .NET, Java, Physical UX, Agile in the large, Agile UX, Pushing Agile, Teams, Agile Planning, End-User Programming, Shiny

Please peruse last year’s Øredev’s website: www.oredev.org/2011 to discover further information about the previous speakers and topics .

A good paper will:

  •      - Consider a significant problem/trend;
  •      - Propose an interesting, compelling solution/insight;
  •      - Draw appropriate conclusions;
  •      - Clearly describe what the speakers have done;
  •      - Clearly articulate the advances beyond previous work;
  •      - Be complete!
  • Submissions will be subject to rigorous peer review by the program committee members and will be judged on originality, inspiration, significance, experience, interest, clarity and correctness.The official language is English.

    Important note: marketing and sales content in speaker presentations is contrary the spirit of Øredev!

    It is a bit uncomfortable to mention, but it has happened that speakers talk too much about their company and annoy delegates. Ultimately, this is not good for the company or for Øredev. The result was very poor feedback for those speakers and Øredev did not publish the video of their presentation, which is of course the best marketing your organisation can get. Please respect the Øredev spirit.

    Thank you for submitting your papers here

    The call for paper closes the 2nd of April! Hurry up!
