Turkey Hill Stuff'd Junior Mint
A Frozen Dairy Dessert Review

Have I ever mentioned how nice the Turkey Hill people are? They wrote to me several times and apologized when I don't like a flavor. It's so polite and truly embodies the spirit of how ice cream is here to make us feel better. That said, I've got good news and bad news.

The good news is that this is crazy low fat and tastes like junior mints.
The bad news is that it also has that Stuff'd funk that I truly dislike.
. . .
The best news is that I can totally pawn this one off on my daughter who's really enjoying it

Photos aren't complete without the penny test

So I've taken a first and second scoop at this thing and I don't really like it. I will admit that if you aim for just the mints and keep the ice cream to a minimum then this really does taste like the candy, at least for the first few bites, but then I started getting more of the base and that Stuff'd funk was back in action.

At this point, I give up on Stuff'd. The lack of calories just doesn't justify the weirdness. There's jut something not write about it. It's not the candy bits, and it's not the swirl, it's the base. Sure, it doesn't bother everybody, I know I tend to be picky, but I'm not buying any more of these. There are too many cool new products out to keep wasting my time on this stuff/

On Third Scoop: Ok, good news! If you crush a good amount of Oreos into this stuff, the funk is covered up and it's not too bad, if not eye-opening minty... that's not to be confused with high end tingly minty, no, this is a straight forward, overpowering minty. This was my first full bowl and I'm pretty sure my entire esophagus is now minty fresh... I'm going to be tasting this in the morning, aren't I?

Verdict?  Very Minty, Crazy low fat, Stuff'd funk
Buy Again?  Nope

Oikos Blueberry Greek Frozen Yogurt Review

Man I gotta get caught up before all the review thoughts get jumbled in my head. Let's cover this first because it's gonna be quick.

This is a pint of Stonyfield Organic OIKOS
Organic Nonfat Greek Frozen Yogurt - Blueberry

And this is what it looks like... sort of, the light purple hue got washed out by my cell camera

sure I could take another picture.... BUT I DON'T CARE

Ok, that's a bit rough. I'm sure plenty of people will love a frozen treat that tastes exactly like nonfat blueberry frozen yogurt. Me? I'm bored out of my mind and I can't even pretend to like it. My wife wasn't a fan at first either, but she says she's slowly warming up to it.

I just went to take a third and final run at this flavor but I can't even stand the smell of it. Artificial comes to mind. I sniff it and think of super cheap blueberry muffins rotting on a gas station shelf. I know it's suppose to be a quality product but I just can't get into it, I'm sorry.

It's a shame really because doesn't it look cool with it's whole blueberries and blueberry specs? Why does something that looks so real taste so fake? I don't get it.... well, I do get it. I have trouble with non-fat and lowfat stuff, and I keep trying to be open minded but it's so hard! Man do I want my five bucks back on this one.

Verdict?  Gross
Buy Again?  Never ever ever (ever)

Other Opinions: Roddy and Tony were much more appreciative of this one.

Ironic Disclaimer on the pint: "Blueberry isn't a traditional frozen dessert flavor"

Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Therapy
"New" for 2012 : An Ice Cream Review

Technically I've already tried Chocolate Therapy from a scoop shop, so let me jump right to my conclusion: This is going to be the chocolate pint to beat in 2012. It's just that chocolaty. I think it's only fair to warn you that if you are a chocolate addict like myself, it's going to be really hard to put this pint down. For everyone that misses the limited edition Flourless Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Therapy is here to permanently take it's place.

spacer
Chocolate Therapy is Chocolate Ice Cream with Chocolate Cookies & Swirls of Chocolate Pudding Ice Cream. Think about that for a minute (or 7). Close your eyes and envision what that would taste like. I don't even need to crack open the pint to show you because your mind is already racing with chocolate on chocolate on chocolate goodness. I see chocolate houses with brownie bushes and pudding rain drops and NOM NOM NOM NOM. Man this stuff is evil... why did they ever cancel this flavor?

spacer
How awesome does that look? Reminds me of some kind of awesome fudgy multi-layer cake. I was just picking on how little air there is in Graeter's and then I pop open this pint which seems to have less air overrun than B&J's typical flavors. Maybe it's the pudding that lacks air overrun, but unlike the Graeter's, I get more of a milk undertone than a water undertone.
