Only businesses and organisations that are part of the travel and tourism industry are entitled to a .travel name. A .travel name will identify you as a verified participant in the travel industry.

A .travel name registration also provides for a listing in the industry-exclusive directory of travel products and services -- a listing you define and edit as you wish. The .travel Directory provides your fellow industry members, as well as consumers, with a precision search tool that is designed to drive traffic to your business.

If, as a PATA member, you would like to authenticate your eligibility for a .travel domain name(s), PATA will help you. All that’s required is that you complete a short information form and forward us some supporting documents. Just click the secure “authentication data” link below, and follow the instructions you find there to fill in the form. PATA will review your data and confirm your eligibility based on the information you supply and the membership data we hold.

Once you have been authenticated you will be sent an email which will confirm your eligibility. You will then be able to use the User ID and Password you have chosen when you enter your authentication information to return to review your record and Names List, which is a list of names that you are eligible to apply to register.  The Names List is generated from the information you provide on the authentication form.

Authentication is a PATA member service without any charge to you at this time. Your .travel name registration fee includes your Directory listing. Once you are authenticated you will be entitled to register any or all of .travel domain name(s) on your Names List with an authorised registrar. As noted in other communications, the overarching policy for registering any .travel domain name is first-come-first-served, therefore we urge you to get authenticated and register your chosen domain name(s) as quickly as possible.

Once authenticated by PATA, members may register their .travel names with an authorised registrar. PATA recommends registering with EnCirca, which is offering a 5% discount to PATA members.

Every registrant will be offered a listing in the .travel Directory as part of the standard services included with a .travel domain name. The directory will be a global online source of travel data organised according to a unique vocabulary developed for the travel industry by Tralliance and supported by a world leader in cataloguing and search. The .travel Directory will allow a user to search from over 1400 relevant categories covering all facets of travel, including destinations, accommodation, activities, transportation and travel services.
