50 in 5 Campaign

We all dream of riding new local single track. Well, the dream is becoming a reality as the WMMBA initiates its plan for 50 new mountain bike trail miles in the next 5 years. Currently we have approval for trails at the Plainfield Township sports complex being developed at 10 mile and Wolven Ave NE, Upper Macatawa Natural Area and Wahfield Park! We are also working with Kent County on securing opportunities at Thornapple Riverbend Park and Lamoreaux Park. City of Grand Rapids on the “Grand Loop” which will include trail in 5 city parks and connected together by bike paths. The OOEC managed Boy Scout camp at Owasippe to redesign and help reopen the MTB trails, scheduled for a reopening ceremony in mid-August 2011.
