Q. Which wineries should I visit?
A. The wineries of the Walla Walla Valley offer something for everyone. Use the Plan Your Tasting feature of our Web site to search for the specific characteristics you are looking for including, varietals produced, whether the winery has event space, a picnic area, etc.

Q. How many wineries can I visit in one day?
A. Tailor the number of visits to your pace. Some people prefer a leisurely day of three or four visits, while others plan more. Don’t forget to allow for driving time between wineries and a lunch break. Many visitors choose to focus on one of our five winery regions at a time – Airport, Downtown, East of town, South of town, and West of town. Visit the Map section of our Web site to plot your tour. The wineries of the Walla Walla Valley ask that you please taste responsibly.

Q. When are tasting rooms open?
A. Some are open daily while others are open by appointment only. Check with specific wineries to determine their hours of operation.

Q. Do wineries charge tasting fees?
A. Some of the wineries do have tasting fees, many of which are refundable with purchase. Please check with individual wineries for tasting fees and policies.

Q. Where should I eat / stay?
A. Walla Walla Valley offers a variety of dining and lodging options. For information about our hospitality partners visit the Restuarants and Lodging sections of our Web site. You can also ask for recommendations from the wineries you visit! Reservations are recommended for many of the restaurants and hotels in the area, especially during event weekends.

Q. Do the wineries accept large groups and tour busses?
A. A limited number of our wineries have the necessary guest and parking accommodations for large groups and busses. If your group is larger than 8 people, please contact the wineries you would like to visit ahead of time to check their policies and tasting fees.

Q. Can I bring my pet wine tasting?
A. Not all of the Valley’s wineries are set up for pets, so please check before bringing your pet into tasting rooms.

Q. Can I bring my children?
A. While legally, minors are allowed in tasting rooms, not all facilities are equipped to accommodate children. Please check with wineries ahead of time if you are planning on bringing your children wine tasting.

Q. How do I get to Walla Walla?
A. Walla Walla is a four hour drive from Boise, Portland, and Seattle, and a two and a half hour drive from Spokane. There are several flights daily between Walla Walla and Seattle. Directions and airport information are available in the Travel Informaition section of our Web site.

Q. Will I get to meet the winemaker?
A. If you are lucky you might catch the winemaker in the tasting room, but many of our winemakers are busy in the cellar working on the next vintage or on the road marketing their wine and may not be available. Please call ahead if you are interested in a tour rather than just visiting a tasting room.

Q. If I don’t want to drive, are there transportation services available in Walla Walla?
A. There are several limo services and touring companies available in the Walla Walla area. Please see theTransportation section of our Web site for more information about our transportation partners.

Q. Can I visit the vineyards?
A. Currently, very few of our vineyards welcome guests. Please contact them individually to learn who might be able to accommodate your visit.

A. The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance is a winery and grower membership organization committed to furthering the awareness of the quality wineries, wines, and vineyards of the Walla Walla Valley Appellation.
