"Our sweet-tooths were ignited with a blackberry sorbet in raspberry sauce. It was, hands down, the best sorbet I've ever had, and the rest of the Desert followed suit."

DINNER IN RHONE-ALPES, WED. MARCH 21 AND THU. MARCH 22
We will travel to the Rhône-Alpes region of France later in month. Lyon is the capitol of the region, and widely thought of as the culinary heart of France, with its classic Bouchons (Lyon-style bistrots), and the great haute cuisine of chefs such as Paul Bocuse. We featured the typical bouchon cuisine last April with the visit of Lyonnaise chef Joseph VIOLA to La Minette. The cuisine of the region, however, is really varied and includes the Alpine flavour of dishes such as fondue, raclette, gratin dauphinois and gratin savoyard. The region is also famous for its Bresse poultry and the many varieties of cheese including Tomme de Savoie, Bleu de Bresse, Reblochon, Saint-Marcellin and Vacherin. plus fresh-water fish from the famed Dombes lakes and mountain streams of the Alps. Beujolais to the north, and the Côtes du Rhône to the south provide a wide selection of great wines. See the menu here…
As usual our 4-course dinner will be $35, or $50 with regional wine pairings.
ACHIEVEability FOOD FOR THOUGHT, SATURDAY MARCH 24th at 6:30 PM
I love to support this organization which does so much for Philly. Come celebrate ACHIEVEability's 30th anniversary year on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the event, Food for Thought, presented by PNC Bank. This exciting event, which will take place at Urban Outfitters, Inc. at the Navy Yard, will feature food prepared by top chefs from the Greater Philadelphia area, including myself, Marc Vetri and Kevin Sbraga. In addition, the event will feature unique auction items, great music and entertainment.
Food for Thought is ACHIEVEability’s most important fundraiser of the year – raising funds to support its work to end poverty by helping single parent, low-income families, achieve self-sufficiency. ACHIEVEability operates with the belief that everyone has the ability to achieve financial stability through education and personal accountability. Click here to purchase tickets
