Tobin Rothlein – Producing Artistic Director

spacer Tobin Rothlein is a performance and visual artist interested in exploring the area between video, visual arts and dance. He has worked closely with dance for over a decade. He was named an Independence Foundation fellow in 2005 and is a 2006 Pew Fellow in Performance Art. His collaborative work has been seen internationally, including The Whitney Museum of Art, Altria Space, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Grand Theatre in Holland, and ROH2/Royal Opera House in London. His films have been aired on Public Television, The BBC British Short Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives in New York, and via Dance on Camera at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center and throughout the country. Tobin was awarded the 1999 Bronze Apple for the controversial and critically acclaimed documentary Eyes of the Storm. Tobin is Producing Artistic Director of Miller Rothlein, a contemporary performance company dedicated to exploring the intersections of dance, video and visual arts. Tobin is currently involved in an ongoing project in Phnom Penh Cambodia, where his first solo show will be held in February 2011 at Metahouse Gallery.
