I just saw the announcement for the contest,  MacNichol does this better than anyone. Its part of the great fun in participating in the forum community they sponsor. Thanks Michael!

Hmmm...Weber mandolins what is not to like about them. I had a chance to participate in the Weber mandolin roadtrip several months and was blown away. Every mandolin player i gave a chance to handle the instrument has a similar response.  I had never had a chance the play a mandolin before the roadtrip. I always found the double courses of strings too intimidating. Yet the Weber must have a had a perfect setup because it could not have been easier to play. It was such a joy that with a bit of help I was able to knock out a couple of beginner riffs. All in all a very positive experience.

The next thing and perhaps the thing that takes your breath away is the fit and finish of the Weber. I dont know what a perfectly finished mandolin is but if there was one it had to be the Weber.

Finally, as a person born and raised in Montana, the home of Weber, they make me very proud. Weber and its products are a reflection of the people who work there and they are a reflection of my home state. They make Montanans very proud.  I dont currenlty own a mandolin but if I ever do purchase one I would want it to be a Weber.

In 2004 I bouught a new Weber  Maple Bitterroot, and now I am the proud owner of a 2004 Weber X Braced Fern. Bruce and those guys at Sound To Earth really know their stuff. I would love to have a chance at the Sweet Pea, I know my 5 year old Grandson would also. I would love him to start a pickin' and a singin'.

On a teacher's salary (and previously having lost a job b/c of the economy), it will be some time before I can afford a Weber. However, that doesn't keep me off their website and from driving to nearby dealers to gawk at their mandolins.

Of course, sound is ultimately what I love. However, I love the little things about Webers, especially the cosmetic aspects. For example, the tailpieces are unique, yet gorgeous. Similarly, the scrolls have a unique, and especially beautiful carving.

Another aspect of Weber mandolins that I like is that Weber is handmade in the U.S.A. Weber still has deep value for their craft. (They could save money by caring less about their American craftsmanship.)

Lastly, Weber truly values their customers. This can be seen, for example, in how Weber posts videos on their website of people who use their mandolins.

This is a special company and a special instrument.

I purchased this Weber Coyote from The Mandolin Store in Wickenburg, Arizona while on a vacation. I brought it back to my home in canada before winning some VIP tickets to a Skaggs concert on the radio!! I decided to bring my mando and i even got it signed!! I love this weber and couldn't be happier with the purchase i made! the sound is amazing!!

I was fortunate to find a Weber Gallatin F on Mandolin Cafe. While they are often spoken of as not being bluegrass instruments (the mahogany back is too mellow), I beg to differ. I just put on a set of J75s and love the way it carries.

My next instrument will be a Weber Yellowstone Honey F. In the mean time, I am loving my Gallatin. Hands off ;-)

Only played with one a few times but have seen a few lately at an open mic and am interested for sure... The Webers are very good looking critters as a bonus!

I too took part in the Weber mandolin road trip some time ago.  Wish I could think of something clever that hasn't been already mentioned....but I guess my impression of the Weber as I opened up the case was just how beautiful and well finished it was.  It definitely looked like something that cost way more.  (The tone wasn't bad either!)

I bought my first Weber, an Aspen #1, in May of this year and I'm in love with it. The flat style mandolin has a unique, melodious sound with hints of cittern and hammered dulcimer that is perfect for the medieval and Celtic folk music I play. This is my first high-end instrument and I'll never go back to mid-line; it's worth every penny. Beyond the instrument itself I love the friendly and very accessible communication with the Weber folks via Facebook. I had inquired as to whether Weber can build me an Irish bouzouki (the only mando family instrument they don't make) and Mary Weber was quick to respond that they are able and would love to talk to me about doing so. Needless to say I also love that Weber is a family-owned American shop - I'm not supporting some mass production mill nor someone else's economy. I think I must visit Montana!

Prior to the Weber mandolin road trip I had neither touched or played a mandolin.  The Weber was so sweet to play that by the end of the week I had promised myself that at some point I would own one.  That is one promise I intend to keep.

I've never played or even seen a weber mandolin irl - but I had to post something. I've played a mandolin occasionally in the past and I'd love to win one!
