spacer Deane Ogden is an American film composer, percussionist, speaker, and author who has written the music for more than two-dozen feature films including D. Lee Inosanto's The Sensei, the critically-acclaimed documentary Dreams On Spec, Lionsgate's The Way Home starring Dean Cain, the Cuba Gooding Jr. actioner The Hit List, and most recently, Jabang Tetuko, an internationally produced immersive theatrical show which debuted May 12, 2011 in southeast Asia. Deane’s music was also featured in Touchstone Pictures' blockbuster Surrogates, starring Bruce Willis, and in TNT's remake of the Stephen King thriller Salem's Lot, starring Rob Lowe and Donald Sutherland.

Deane was recently announced as one of twelve composers currently writing special music for the upcoming 2012 London Olympic Summer Games.

Television Music

Deane Ogden has also enjoyed an extensive career in episodic television having composed the music for NBC’s primetime drama LAX starring Heather Locklear, HBO's The Wire, and ABC Family’s award-winning Exploration with Richard Wiese. In 2002, Deane was entrusted with lead composer duties on the Emmy Award-winning Monday Night Football for ABC Sports, a post he commanded for five seasons. Deane also wrote special music for season finales of Mark Burnett's' reality sensations Survivor and The Apprentice. In 2008, he was commissioned to write the orchestral themes for Michael Phelps' record-breaking gold medal run during the Beijing Olympic Games—the most-viewed event in American television history.

Radio and Records

As a drummer and percussionist, Deane has performed and recorded with artists such as Tina Turner, Britany Spears, Daryl Hall, Rihanna, Seal, Kenny Loggins, Usher, Travis Tritt, Chris Cornell, Jewel, Leona Lewis, Dido and many others, as well as work with superstar producers David Foster, Jack Joseph Puig and Chris Lord-Alge.

Creative Activism

Deane is the founder and editor-in-chief of SCOREcastOnline.com, the immensely popular editorial, instructional, and review resource for the worldwide network of film music and post-production professionals.

As an outspoken advocate for the creative arts, Deane speaks globally to creative artists, arts groups and government organizations about the convergence of art and business, and heads up The Conversation Project, a community of over 500 creative and performance artists, which focusses on the tools and techniques of successful creative companies, raising awareness of the creative arts and promoting arts education.
