Our Story

spacer Who doesn’t love a great beer? Where can I get a good local beer in Knoxville? What the heck is this Marble City thing all about? Among the answers to those questions lies the simple and unassuming story of Marble City Brewing Company.

We’re reopening a once-beloved local microbrewery to offer suds lovers a high quality collection of craft beers.

Oh, and the name? Well you see, Knoxville was once known as Marble City because local quarries supplied vast amounts of marble, particularly Tennessee Pink, to major building projects like the National Gallery of Art and Supreme Court buildings in our nation’s capital. Our logo, created by the talented Namey Design Group, is adapted from this historical photograph of Jim Lay’s Marble City Saloon.

Dare I suggest that a new Lexington beer is in the offing from the new Marble City Brewing Company? And that perhaps you’ll be able to enjoy it at one of the fine establishments on Central Avenue in the Old City? My, what symmetry you would have then.

We hope you are as excited as we are about the launch of the new Marble City Brewing Company. Thanks for your interest, and do come back soon.
