Principles to practice approach for ELL success

Please join us for this engaging three-day Institute designed to increase understanding and provide practical resources about important topics for educators working with English language learners in their classrooms and schools.

The institute focuses on three key topics from CALs new Hot Topics in ELL Education professional development series:

  • Hot Topic #1: Listening and Speaking: Oral Language and Vocabulary Development for English Language Learners, K-8
  • Hot Topic #2: Academic Language in the Content Areas
  • Hot Topic #3: Math and Science: Skills and Strategies to Adapt Instruction

The institute focuses on one topic each day and is designed for classroom teachers in elementary and middle schools (Grades K-8). It is also appropriate for ESL and bilingual teachers. Collaborative teaching teams are especially encouraged to attend. Other educators (including ESL and other school specialists and district and state administrators) will also find value in this professional development opportunity.

Each attendee will receive the new professional development workbook for each of the Hot Topic in ELL Education themes.

Cost
$935/person. Send 2 people or more and pay $895 each.
Cost includes all training materials and breakfast and lunch each day.

Daily Training Schedule

8:30 – 9:00 am Breakfast and conversation
9:00 am – Noon Morning training session
Noon – 1:00 pm Lunch and networking
1:00 – 4:00 pm Afternoon training session (including mid-afternoon dessert break)

Registration and Payment

Register as soon as possible.

Please decide about your method of payment (credit card or purchase order) at the time of registration. Your seat at the workshop will be confirmed once payment is received. If paying by purchase order, you can complete the online payment form by entering your purchase order number. If you do not have a purchase order, complete steps 1-4 on the registration form to tentatively reserve your seat and fax a signed copy of the purchase order to 888-700-3629 as soon as possible. Register early, as space is limited.

 

Cancellation Policy
Refunds will be provided for all cancellations received in writing three weeks prior to the course start date. After that date, registered individuals can choose to receive the three Hot Topics in ELL Education workbooks by mail or transfer their registration to another individual.
