Engage fans with twitter hash tags
Tomorrow when you work on stories, you’ll be able to insert a new twitter “hashtag button” widget anywhere in your stories. You’ll notice it above the editor towards the right.
If you’re not familiar with “Hashtags”, please read this post from twitter.
Why is this useful?
- Most likely your fans are on twitter and using a hashtag for specific game (i.e., #BeatPanthers). Typically the hashtag is short and catchy making it easy for your fans to include in their tweets.
- Your fans tweet using the hashtag, their friends see and tweet and may include the same hashtag, so on an so forth.
- Others can search for that hashtag and see fans (they may have not known) tweeting about the same event. They can now follow and perhaps retweet
- The hashtag creates a buzz about your upcoming event.
We made it easier to include a hashtag button within your stories. Fans can tweet with that hashtag right off your website without going to twitter. In addition, fans will now know the “official” hashtag of the event!
If you have any questions about this, please, give our office a call and we’ll explain this in detail.
Hope this helps with your social media efforts.
This looks like a great feature! Will the conference backend have it soon as well?
Yes - this feature will be moving to the conference software as well!
