I’ve never been a Facebook fan, but due to the popularity of this network I’ve decided to create a profile for Secular Plague. Ok… let’s go. The obligatory welcome post

Back in January 2006, French deathrock band Sleeping Children disbanded. Guitar player Lois continued his work with Deadchovsky. Singer Romeo joined Wallenberg as a bass player. I (Saphire) decided to take a big break on music and focus on other things I like.

In 2011, people from my church asked me to play the bass on several sunday offices. I accepted and I really enjoyed playing music with and for people again. In December 2011, I started to record some riffs and ideas, some of them eventually becoming the first songs I wrote since Sleeping Children broke-up.

Here’s how Secular Plague was born, mainly influenced by hardcore punk (Minor Threat, Antidote, Bad Brains…) and deathrock (45 Grave, Scarlet Remains, Voodoo Church…).

For now, I am the sole permanent member in SP. I’m currently recording songs and looking forward for a release on the still unnamed label I’m setting up. I’ll post a demo or two in a few days.
