5 Generations Projects in Ukraine - Ukraine has one of the fastest growing HIV/AIDS epidemics in the world. In August 2010, reports suggest that 1.3 – 1.5 percent of the adult population of Ukraine was infected with HIV, the highest in all of Europe. Around of 80% of them are young people 15-28 years old: a full 25% of those affected are still in their teens [see the map here].

[Generations Project] A New Chance in Life, Ukraine - MCC partner "Union of Evangelical Baptist Churches" has been working in the Zaporozhye region for several years. Through lessons, counseling, and physical and medical relief, the organization is helping to bring HIV awareness to young people, as well as breaking the cycle of crime in society. The work of ECB has brought AIDS education to many young people in the region, and has helped restore the lives of over 40 ex-prisoners. [Read more]
