Documentary

Rapt’s documentary films represent important contributions to the cultural landscape of the Bay Area. Through producing our feature-length films on the history of dance and theater in San Francisco, we’ve developed the strategies and techniques for acquiring archives, conducting interviews, documenting work, and synthesizing these into vivid and compelling films that give context to whole artistic communities. We can bring these skills, along with our passion and artistry, to your story.

Our second feature, Stage Left: A Story of Theater in San Francisco, is currently being screened at film festivals throughout the country–please visit the Kenneth Rainin Foundation website to find out more about the film, future screenings, and how to get involved. Our first feature, Artists in Exile: A Story of Dance in San Francisco, was released in 2000 to widespread critical acclaim. The DVD may be purchased on our online Dance media store.
