St. Patrick School in Newry will have two Open Houses, February 13th
and March 13th both from 6:30 - 8:30pm. There's Free registration for new families, Door Prizes and Refreshments (no purchase necessary) St. Patrick School students receive transportation from Altoona, Hollidaysburg, Spring/Cove, Northern Bedford, and Claysburg-Kimmel School Districts

Nominations are being accepted from Blair, Bedford, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon and Somerset counties until March 23 for Small Business Person(s) of the Year, Exporter of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Financial Services Advocate of the Year, and Women in Business Advocate of the Year. Winners and nominees will be recognized at a luncheon at noon on Wednesday, June 13 in the JFK Center on the Saint Francis University campus. The Blair County Genealogical Society will be holding a three-week Genealogical Course for beginners to experience researchers three consecutive Tuesday evenings starting 7pm March 13th at the Roller Hojeth Memorial Library, 431 Scotch Valley Road in Hollidaysburg. The Altoona Sister Cities Committee’s Lenten Spaghetti Dinner will be 4 to 7pm Friday, March 23rd at St. John the Evangelist School in Lakemont. Dinner includes pasta, salad, bread, dessert and drink, $6 for adults, $4 for children under 10. Proceeds benefit this June’s Sister Cities trip to St. Polten, Austria
