About the Roku Streaming Player[+] What is the Roku player and what does it do?
The Roku player is a small device that lets you instantly stream tons of entertainment to your TV—without a PC. Watch movies and TV shows on Netflix or Hulu Plus, listen to Pandora or catch the latest ballgame, and more—it's all available whenever you want it. It even has Wi-Fi built-in so you can connect your Roku player to any TV in your house! [+] Is the Roku player high-definition (HD)?
Yes. The Roku HD player is HD-ready and allows user to play HD titles in 720p. However, to watch in high-definition you will need an HDMI cable—provided by Windstream. [+] What do I need to enjoy Roku at home?

The Roku player connects to the Internet through your home network using Wi-Fi (via a wireless modem). All Roku players are compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g wireless networks and support current wireless security protocols, including WEP, WPA and WPA2. To connect your Roku to the Internet, you'll also need to know the name of your wireless network (SSID) and, of course, the passphrase/security key if your home network is protected. No, but you can create a four-digit numerical Roku Channel Store PIN that will be required to add new channels to your Roku player. This gives you more control over the kind of content that gets added to your player. [+] Can I take my Roku player with me when I travel?
Yes. As long as you can wirelessly connect to the Internet, you can enjoy your Roku player wherever you travel. [+] Why is a Roku account required to use the Roku?
During guided setup, you'll be prompted to create your Roku account online at roku.com/link. Your Roku player will generate a unique code that links your player to your new account. Roku accounts are free and secure. And while a valid credit card number is required to create your account, rest assured you will only be charged if you authorize purchases of channels and games from the Roku Channel Store. There are over 300 entertainment "channels," featuring 100,000+ movies and TV shows, music, sports, photo and video sharing, games, international programming, news and much more. All of the channels are available for you to browse and select in the Roku Channel Store, which you can access from your TV screen.
