UCL Artist-in-Residence

New Urban Laboratory Artist-in-Residence
Sound artist and musician Benny Nilsen has won a Leverhulme Trust residency to work with Professor Matthew Gandy. BJNilsen will introduce and work with sound at the UCL/Urban Lab throughout 2012. More info to follow.

BAROQUE PAINTING AND NATURE AS MUSICAL SCORES FOR MOVEMENT
”Name of the next song” is the new creation by Örjan Andersson, created together with four dancers from the US, Spain and Israel as well as musician and composer BJNilsen who created electronic music with nature as a starting point.

Biography & Photos

(b,1975 Sweden) is a sound and recording artist. Primarily focused on the sound of nature and its effect on humans, field recordings and the perception of time and space as experienced through sound, often electronically treated. He has worked as composer and sound designer for documentary film, theatre, television and dance and performs his solo work regularly around the globe creating an immersive and intimate soundworld.

BJNilsen has collaborated with Chris Watson, Hildur Gudnadottir, Philip Jeck and Stilluppsteypa amongst others.
