Zypr, Engage Digital and SXSW Invite Developers to App Hackathon @ SXSW Presented by Zypr

On February 17, 2012

AUSTIN, TX – February 16, 2012 – Event producer Engage Digital, in collaboration with South By Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festivals, will hold the first App Hackathon @ SXSW (appdevhackathon.com/) overnight March 9-10, 2012 at the Austin Music Hall. More than 250 developers will create unique new iOS™ and Android® software and HTML5 apps leveraging the latest in application programming interfaces (API) for these platforms. These include the new voice-powered, Web services mashup Zypr™ API from Pioneer® Corporation and APIs from Creditcards.com and Turbulenz.

Launched in November of 2011, and with more than 1,300 registered developers, Zypr provides seamlessly-connected experiences across PCs, mobile, tablet, consumer electronics and automotive platforms. Pioneer anticipates App Hackathon @ SXSW and integration of Zypr into the acclaimed new Scion™ FR-S car due in the Summer of 2012 further strengthening the technology as the premier voice-powered API.

App Dev Hackathon Santa Clara

On November 1, 2011

The first App Dev Hackathon and Bootcamp took place October 27, 2011, 9 am – 8 pm at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

The event is for developers working on mobile apps. Developers will learn new skills, build mobile apps, compete for prizes, meet people and find teammates for new or current projects. Not your traditional hack, AppDev Hackathon features hands on training classes on the latest technologies and trends that can help developers build better apps.

AppDev Hackathon is both for coding gurus and beginners, there is something for everyone. Those who have never developed an app before or new to APIs will be able to attend the mobile app beginner class and then tap into the experts for advice. Developers are welcome to enhance their existing app with one of the cool APIs or services or start a new app at the AppDev Hackathon.  Both existing apps and new apps will be eligible for prizes.

Participants are welcome to bring a team that is all ready together and use the time to innovate or meet other developers and create a team onsite. Or, you are also welcome to work alone as well. Registration for the hackathon is free.
