The mission of the Climate Protection Campaign is to inspire, align, and mobilize action in response to the climate crisis. We work with business, government, youth and the broader community to advance practical, science-based solutions for significant greenhouse gas emission reductions.

The Campaign constantly seeks solutions commensurate with the scale of the problem. Although its important for individuals to take action like changing their light bulbs, we need solutions for change at the speed and scale required. Our strategic approach is to help implement policies and incentives that make it easier for everyone to do the right thing.

The Climate Protection Campaign has helped Sonoma County set nine national precedents. For example, all Sonoma cities and the County adopted the boldest greenhouse gas emissions reduction target in the country –  25% below 1990 levels by 2015. We also developed a bold action plan for reaching this goal while strengthening our economy.
