Venues

On the north side of downtown Asheville are Moogfest′s primary venues: the Asheville Civic Center which houses both the 6,000-capacity arena, and the smaller 2,400-seat Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. Shows will also take place at The Orange Peel, a 1,100-capacity club named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the best rock clubs in the country.  Moogfest will also be using other traditional and non-tradional spaces all throughout Asheville, including the Diana Wortham Theatre.

ANIMOOG PLAYGROUND

With a growing fest comes a need for more venue space and so, Moogfest is moving outdoors! This year, we are officially introducing the Animoog Playground at the Renaissance, located in the heart of downtown Asheville. Offering a large open air space in the lush atmosphere of Asheville in autumn, Animoog Playground at the Renaissance will host epic performances (see schedule here) beginning in the late afternoon of each day and continuing into the evening.  The playground will be filled with interactive art installations, delicious local cuisine and refreshments, merchandise and more.  Doors will open a half hour before the first performance and patrons must have their wristbands to enter.  This is an all ages venue and outside food/drinks are prohibited.

MOOGAPLEX

Located in the Haywood Park complex,  the Moogaplex will host the  Moog Workshops & Panels where an array of artists and experts will come together for an interactive learning experience showcasing (and selling) Moog Music products, while giving patrons a sense of musical history as well as opening their minds to the future possibilities of sound creation.  Additionally, the Synth Art Show will also be hosted at the Moogaplex so be sure to swing by and buy a limited edition piece of art where all proceeds will go to the Bob Moog Foundation.  This is an all ages venue and doors will open a half hour prior to the first panel.
