This 914 will be my second electric car project. It’s a 1974 Porsche 914 targa. Cool little car! Two seater, mid-engine, rear tranny. This was the last car that Volkswagen and Porsche collaborated on. Currently it’s got a 1.8 liter WV motor and tranny that sit in the opposite orientation of a normal VW. The plan is to drop the motor and all other ICE parts to convert this thing into a mean little electric street car. I’ll be posting updates as I find time to work on it.
I finally got around to digging into the 914 a bit the other weekend. At this point the plan is to patch up the few rust spots that it’s got under the battery box and work on the brakes a bit. As I work on different sections I’ll try yo post and refer back to this page for the whole restore project. For now… The Battle Against Rust
