(3/23/12) The term “interim” has been removed from Jamaal Jackson’s position title.  After one season as interim head coach of the Bluefield State College men’s basketball team, Jackson is now the team’s head coach.

(3/21/12) Hampton University head football coach Donovan Rose has announced the hiring of Earnest J. Wilson III as the Pirates’ new offensive coordinator for the coming season, highlighting a series of changes to the coaching staff.

Wilson spent the last two seasons at Jackson State University, where his team led the SWAC in scoring offense, total offense, pass offense, pass efficiency, first downs and fourth down conversions.

Wilson came to Jackson State after serving as the running backs coach at New Mexico State. While at New Mexico State, Wilson's running back corps tallied 1,278 yards on the ground. His coaching background also includes stops at New Mexico State, Benedict College, arena football and a brief internship with the Indianapolis Colts.

Wilson’s hire is the highlight of several changes to the Pirates coaching staff; Delbert Cowsette returns to the program as the defensive line coach, while Darryl Bullock, who was the defensive line coach last season, will take over the offensive line coaching duties.

Greg Taylor will become the running backs coach after the departure of Stephen Field.  Taylor spent last season as an assistant wide receivers coach.

(3/20/12) Grambling State University has reassigned men's basketball coach Bobby Washington and not renewed the contract of women's coach Donnita Drain Rogers.

(3/20/12) The Savannah State University Athletic Department has hired hired Danita Townsend as the Associate Athletic Director for Administration and Student-Athlete Welfare and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA).  Townsend comes to Savannah State from Florida State University where she has worked since 2010 as an academic advisor and support for women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s tennis, women’s golf, men’s tennis, and men’s golf.

(3/14/12) Latasha Colander Clark has joined the Paine College Athletic staff as head coach for men’s & women’s track and field and women & men’s cross country.  Director of Athletics Tim Duncan made the announcement.  Clark, who earned an Olympic gold medal and was part of a world-record relay team, comes to Paine from Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, North Carolina, where she was assistant men and women’s track and field coach.

(3/13/12) Jerry Eaves has been relieved of his duties as the head men’s basketball coach at North Carolina A&T, Director of Athletics Earl M. Hilton III announced today. Scott Bollwage will serve as interim head coach until a permanent replacement is hired.

(3/12/12) North Carolina Central University Director of Athletics Dr. Ingrid Wicker-McCree announced Monday that the contract of women’s basketball coach Joli Robinson will not be renewed. Robinson’s contract expires June 30, 2012.

(3/6/12) Saint Augustine’s College has announced that men’s basketball coach Ken Spencer will not return to the Falcons next season. Spencer posted a 23-32 overall record during his two seasons with the Falcons including a 14-14 mark this season.

(3/6/12) Tennessee State University Athletic Director Teresa Phillips has announced that Lady Tigers women’s basketball coach Tracee Wells would not be retained for the 2012-13 season.
