Righteous Pictures is looking for interns who are ambitious self-starters who aren’t afraid to take initiative. As a film production and social action campaign development company, we take on many films at once and assign an intern to each film. Applicants must be willing to do a range of work, from administrative, to strategy development, to working directly with filmmakers on their projects. Given our current film slate, we are looking for interns with an interest in social entrepreneurship, micro-finance, fair trade products, disability rights, technology, and women’s rights. All internships are in New York City, require a 10 hour weekly commitment (which can be spread over a period of two to five days), and require that you come to our office. All internships are unpaid.

DOCUMENTARY FILM PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP

Term: Spring 2012, Summer 2012
You will have the opportunity to see a production go from concept through to delivery for both our in-house productions as well as for our wide array of clients, learning about the field’s technology and logistics and assisting with the managerial and organizations processes of making a film.

Our office is relaxed, energetic, friendly and highly productive. We have fun and work hard, with occasional long hours in the face of deadlines. We are seeking a candidate who is able to commit to working at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Conduct media research and curation (including both sound/music and images) for various projects
• Filming and production coordination – including assisting the Directors with project schedules , keeping members of the creative team updated on schedule changes, keeping project calendars update
• Location bookings
• Assistance on film shoots, taking camera notes and helping to set-up and breakdown equipment.
• Short listing and basic editing
• Transcriptions
• Concept development
• Script analysis
• Storyboards
• Help maintain social media platforms

Qualifications and skills for this internship include:
• Ability to anticipate needs/questions before they come up, self-starter, yet also willing and able to follow direction accurately and quickly
• Excellent communication and diplomacy skills
• High attention to detail a must and keen ability to multi-task
• Experience in internet and library research
• Working knowledge of film/video is beneficial including familiarity with Final Cut Pro
• Willingness to jump in and lend a hand to whatever needs doing!

RESEARCH AND CAMPAIGN DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

Term: Spring 2012, Summer 2012
RP is looking for a part time, New York based intern to assist in research and campaign development for our documentary and narrative film clients. Interested applicants must be interested in social action/activism, movement building, film and social media. Previous experience in film marketing, marketing, PR or nonprofits is a plus. Applicant must be able to commit to 10 hours a week and enjoy eating chocolate chip cookies.

Job duties:
• Research on a range of issues, from education to human rights.
• Managing research documents on each of the individuals profiled in the film
• Assisting in campaign strategy development
• Research on potential partners and sponsors
• Be comfortable with self managing, cold emailing and cold calling
• Creating weekly reports on the status of the campaign
