Lectionary Scriptures for the Week

FIRST LESSON: Jeremiah 31:31-34
Through the prophet God’s promise of a new covenant is revealed. It will not be a covenant on paper, but rather “I will write it in their hearts.”

SECOND LESSON: Hebrews 5:5-10
The writer recalls the divine calling of Jesus. Therefore, he is the great high priest “made perfect…the source of eternal salvation.”

GOSPEL LESSON: John 12:20-33
In his last public address, Jesus reveals that the hour of his glorification is at hand.
