What We Believe

  • God
  • Jesus Christ
  • Holy Spirit
  • The Bible
  • People
  • Eternity

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-31; Romans 1:4

Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; Ephesians 5:18; John 14:17

The Bible is God’s word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, it is the truth without error. The Bible was not written only to educate us, but to change our lives.

Psalm 119:19; II Timothy 3:16

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God. This attitude, called sin, separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15

Tenets of Faith

  • Scripture Inspired
  • One God
  • Deity of Jesus
  • Fall of Man
  • Salvation of Man

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and the revelation of God to man, the infallible; authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent, “I AM”, the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of the relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death, resurrection and exaltation to the right hand of God.

Man was created good and upright; for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Salvation is received by faith through His grace and demonstrated in our repentance.

The Ordinances of the Church

Water Baptism

All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of Life.

Holy Communion

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements (bread and the fruit of the vine), is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of his suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming.

Baptism in Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to and should expect and seek the promise of the Father through the Baptism in Holy Spirit and fire.

Evidence of Baptism in Holy Spirit

The baptism of believers in Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as given by the Spirit of God. Speaking in tongues in this instance is the same in essence as the gift of tongues, but difference in purpose and use.

Gifts of Holy Spirit

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit listed in I Corinthians 12-14, as manifested in the early church.

Sanctification

The act of separation from that which is evil and dedication unto God.

The Church

We believe there is one true universal church, made up of genuine believers. This church is composed of many local churches in given localities under the sovereign Headship of the Lord Jesus Christ, exercising autonomous government under Him, administering all its local affairs and ministry, as well as the propagation of the Gospel.

Ministry

A divinely called and Scripturally ordained ministry of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers has been provided by our Lord for the threefold purpose of leading the Church in evangelization of the world, worship of God and building the body.

Divine Healing

Divine Healing is an integral part of the Gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.

The Blessed Hope

The blessed hope of the Church is the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord.

Final Judgement

There will be a final judgment at which all men will be judged.

New Heaven & New Earth

“We, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness”.

2 Peter 3:13; Rev. 21:22
