Room 40's annual festival of esoteric sound and media returns for its fourth year.
Open Frame continues to present many key artists working in the fields of improvisation, electronics, extended instrumentation, audio-visualists and the wider avant-garde. This year's festival explores dynamic texture and physicality in sound performance.
From South Africa comes sound artist James Webb whose work calls into question the expectation of the ears and the mind. From Greece comes ILIOS, a master of incredible low frequency concerts, whose work delivers a foundation shaking storm of physical sound. From New Zealand is laptop maestro Rosy Parlane from the Touch label and Pumice, the one man band whose song deconstruction is like no other! Add to this the likes of USA favourites Ducktails, Icelandic resident Ben Frost and you have two nights of auditory delight.
