Welcome to Mid-Continent's On-Line Archives. These pages serve as a communication center for Mid-Continent's Archives and Library and also a portal to Digital Collections—both Mid-Continent and private—available on-line through our server.

MISSION STATEMENT: The specific purpose of the Archives and Library is to collect, manage, and preserve Mid-Continent's collection, as well as provide supervised public access to its collections for education, publication, and research purposes.

Our Archives are undergoing a comprehensive inventory of all its collections. As they are completed, we will post them on this page (click on the links at right to download pdf files of currrent inventories). The menu at left may be used to navigate through specific sections of the On-Line Archives section of our website. This will be a work in progress, and as such, will be expanded in the future as our time permits.

You may contact our Collection Manager with specific requests. Be sure to specify the railroad, location, or subject matter you are inquiring about. General requests such as "can you tell me what photos you have of roundhouses" may take longer for a reply.

You may also visit the Archives and Library in person. They are open on most Saturdays from 10:00am until 3:00pm or by appointment. At this time, it is strongly recommended that you make an appointment with the Collection Manager at least 48 hours prior to your arrival to ensure that someone is available to help you access the Archives and Library. Reorganization of the Archives and Library are currently underway and not all collections can be made available without prior notice. Unsupervised public access is not permitted.
