Rezidenzmuseum - Possibly the pick of all Munichs museums, the rezidenzmuseum has a massive number of rooms all full of Wittelsbach treasures dated between 1385 and 1918.
Hofbruhaus - Located in the Marienplatz this was the location of the first meeting of Adolf Hitlers Socialist party back in 1920. Set in a fantastic old building it is the perfect setting to experience traditional German beer.
Viktualienmark - The Viktualienmarkt is one of the greatest food markets in Europe, and is even more impressive during the summer months when it becomes one large beer garden.
English Garden - Europes largest city park is without doubt the place to be when it gets too hot for Munichs museums. Nudity is allowed and drinking beer is almost expected, but for those of you who are more restrained try one of the walks or boating on the lake.
Schloss Nymphenburg - This picturesque baroque palace took almost 100 years to build. The result of all that hard work is an amazing sight both inside and outside. |

Carnival (January-March) - Six weeks of street parties in the run up to lent culminating in three days of furious activity and traditional dancing.
Oktoberfest (September early October) - This Bavarian festival is the biggest public festival anywhere in the world. Traditional costume, food and beer are essential components but Oktoberfest offers much more including several parades and fairs. |
