This is the first social event of the 2012 summer outing season, a good time to meet fellow anglers, swap fish tales, and plan your next fishing trip. What: NCC-TU Members & Friends Happy Hour Where: PJ Clarke's, 1600 K St. NW When Wednesday, March 28 @ 6:00 pm $1 Oysters and $2 Brisket sliders, Irish nachos, and more (4pm-7pm) During the shad run (usually April thru mid-June), our chapter sends out reports of fishing conditions at Fletchers Cove and elsewhere as we receive information. If you know someone who might want to receive these reports, email us with "SHAD" in the subject line and give us their name and email address. If you received shad reports last year, you don't need to resubscribe to get them in 2012. |

How they did... Post Photos... Find folks to fish with TIGHT LINES! RAPIDAN RIVER NCC-TU scheduled a trip for the Rapidan River with Tom Sadler as our guide for Saturday October 22. We met Tom in Madison, VA around 09:00 and fished for most of the day. Brian Durkin was the trip organizer. This trip was a great success. See Brian's Rapidan trip report, complete with beautiful fall pictures. MAY CHAPTER MEETING Wednesday May 9, 2012: Maryland's Wild Trout. Tom Starrs of the Maryland Chapter of Trout Unlimited has spent years locating and fishing for wild trout in Maryland. Tom will tell us about the streams in Maryland where he finds native brook trout and other species too. You will be surprised where he finds these beautiful fish! |
NCC-TU members are active throughout the region in many conservation and education projects. These include habitat conservation and restoration, summer youth conservation camps, integrating fly-fishing and tying into the therapeutic programs of recovering wounded military personnel, and other projects.
