The 2012 Wilderness Road Ride is on!

Summary:
The 21st annual Wilderness Road Ride takes place Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. A scenic and historical adventure through southwest Virginia’s beautiful New River Valley, the ride follows part of Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Road. This is a ride for the whole family to enjoy, with something for everyone — 5 routes to choose from ranging from a 14 mile relaxed journey for novices, to a 78 mile challenge for the fittest cyclist.  This is a must ride for cyclists of all ages and athletic abilities.

Event Details:
The Wilderness Road Ride takes place Saturday, May 26, 2012. All routes start and finish in Radford, at the Dedmon Center and Bisset Park. Non-riders can enjoy Bisset Park, the New River, and downtown Radford, while their families and friends are out riding.

Fully supported aid stations will be positioned at regular intervals along the course and the start/finish location.  Aid stations will be supplied with Heed Hammer Nutrition fuel, as well as water and plenty of other snacks.

Detailed maps and cue sheets will be available at the start of the ride.

Early registrations accepted until May 15th         After May 15th

$ 20 – Adults age 18+                                                    $25

$ 15 – Youth age 17 and below                                      $20

$ 45 – Family of 3 or more                                              $55

The first 300 registrants will receive an event T-shirt, Hammer Gel and other goodies.

The Wilderness Road Ride is part of the Cycling Double Header weekend which includes the Mountains of Misery Century Ride.  MOM is sponsored by the New River Valley Bicycle Association is Sunday, May 27th. To find out more about this exciting event go to www.cyclingdoubleheader.com

Proceeds will benefit FCAE ministries and missions projects. FCA is a non-profit organization.
