Large Rooms and More at The Cliff Dwellers Inn, Blowing Rock @CliffDwellers

By Katie

We left late Friday and arrived in Blowing Rock at approximately 7:00 pm Friday night. I can honestly say, that night the city of “Blowing Rock” earned it’s name. It was COLD and the wind was howling. The wind was blowing so hard in fact, I had to hold Betsy’s hand to keep her from sailing away on the wind…and it was a biting cold… BRR!

After a long drive and a slap in the face from the wind, we were happy to arrive at The Cliff Dwellers Inn in Blowing Rock. I was tired and cold. When we entered the lobby, Stephen, the Manager on Duty, greeted us with a smile and treated us like it really was a pleasure to have us there. I know I immediately forgot about the wind...for a minute. Stephen immediately showed us to our room, but even offered to get us ice. How often do you see that at hotels these days? Awesomeness!

Stephen opens the door to the room and the hotel room at The Cliff Dwellers Inn was so large I was shocked. Usually when the four of us travel together, when we stay in one room, we are always running into each other, not here. We could walk by each other without touching, we could not reach the TV from the end of the bed – both things are miracles in terms of hotel rooms, you know?

The bathroom was actually a cove where there was a sink and closet were in one part of the cove and a shower, bath, toilet, and another sink was behind a door. Imagine that – I could actually be blowing drying my hair while Betsy was taking a shower. SWEET!

The room also had a huge TV of course, as well as a nice sitting area. At the back of the hotel was a door that lead to porch. Each room has a view of the hills in Blowing Rock and as a matter of fact, you also get the beautiful view of Chetola Lake as well. I was so happy to wake up to that kind of a view. Wouldn’t you be?

Besides the large rooms and awesome views, The Cliff Dwellers Inn offers a continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, mini refrigerators in every room and some rooms also have fireplaces, full kitchens, and jacuzzi hot tubs.

On top of everything else The Cliff Dwellers Inn, the price is very reasonable. I was actually kind of shocked to hear the price and so we ended up staying another night!

I absolutely would recommend staying at The Cliff Dwellers Inn when you are visiting Blowing Rock. I know I would definitely go back.

For more information, please visit The Cliff Dwellers Inn. Or, you can find The Cliff Dwellers Inn on Facebook and Twitter.

Our thanks go out to The Cliff Dwellers Inn and The Blowing Rock Visitors Center for making our trip to Blowing Rock for the Winterfest so much fun! We will be back!

And where was my invite? I would have loved to stay. Looked pretty sweet. Can’t say I love the cold though, so I would have probably been holed up in the room the entire time… Or in the jacuzzi..
COLD makes me SHAKE like a small poodle…

    Love the scenery..
    Glad you liked it.
I seriously need some time away from the kids, and this looks like such a serene spot..

I am originally from Southern California so I know what you mean about the cold…But actually, just that night it was blustery – the rest of the weekend was beautiful!

We have visted the Boone/Blowing Rock, NC area many times on day trips from Knoxville. It’s such a lovely, quaint part of the state. This hotel room is really large and cozy looking. Wow! Sounds like y’all had an excellent stay!

Stayed there a couple of weeks ago, it is a very nice place and the fellow at the front desk was absolutely the best a person could ask for. Thanks again and we will most definitely be back. David
