Darrell Scott Band: There’s a World of Song
His songs have been covered by many; "Long Time Gone" recorded by the Dixie Chicks, "It's a Great Day to Be Alive" sung by Travis Tritt, "When There's No One Around" recorded by Garth Brooks and many more.
Now you have the opportunity to hear the man himself. Fresh off a tour with Robert Plant's Band of Joy, Darrell Scott debuts his new album "Long Ride Home" in Roanoke.
Darrell's distinct, soul-saturated voice, his dazzling instrumental chops and unfailing judgment is what makes his songs sturdy enough to stand up to the winds of time. In addition to the new album, Darrell unveils a new song on Jefferson Center's Shaftman Performance Hall stage March 30th, written to spread the good word about the opportunities housed inside Jefferson Center's teen music program Music Lab. There’s a World of Song was produced in the Music Lab using voices from many of this season's performers, local talents and artists from around the world. The song premieres for the first time anywhere at Jefferson Center.
