Conference Itinerary:
Day 1 - Dec. 13: Departure from U.S. currently planned from Houston with arrival into the Yucatan on the same day. (From other places in the U.S., or internationally, please inquire.) Transfer to your hotel. Day 2 - Dec. 14: Today and tomorrow are for sightseeing of Mayan ancient power places before the main conference speaking events begin on Dec.16. The first two days are intended for immersion in the ancient Mayan sites. Later in the week, you will continue your pyramid experience at Ek Balam, a pyramid even larger than Chichen-Itza.
Todays experience is at Chichen-Itza, one of the finest examples of the Mayan pyramids. Experience the magnificent and extensive site of the sacred Mayan city of Chichen-Itza, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Covering an approximate sixty mile area with impressive ancient temples and buildings, see the Kukulcan pyramid, whose architecture is full of symbolism, and also the famous ancient Observatory. You have the option to stay for the Sound and Light Show if you like. (no extra charge) Day 3 - Dec. 15: Full day tour to more ancient sacred Mayan sites. Drive to Coba and Tulum. Tulum is located in a magnificent setting high on bluffs overlooking the sparkling blue turquoise Caribbean Sea.
The main experience today is mystical Coba, with the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan at over 126 feet. The pyramids and buildings are situated on the shores of several lakes and the architecture is unique. Numerous ancient roads led into this huge Mayan city center, one of them over 62 miles long the longest in the Mayan world. Climb to the top of one of the pyramids at Coba, as it is well worth the effort. From the top, you can see over the jungle canopy for miles, with an unobstructed view of the temple mounds peeking above the trees. (Group lunch included.) Day 4 - Dec. 16: Main conference and events start today. Meetings and presentations all day with a break at mid-day. Reconvene in the afternoon. (Group lunch included.)
Day 5 - Meetings and presentations, morning and afternoon. (Group lunch included.) Day 6 - Dec. 18: Siteseeing today to Ek Balam. Surrounded by jungle, Ek Balam, whose name means Black Jaguar, is very impressive with its enormous Acropolis-type pyramid. Restoration has only been going on for a few years and not many tourists visit the site. Later today experience the old Mayan village of Xochen, whose name means the Center of the Universe. In this traditional Mayan village people maintain the old ways. Driving by the ancient Ceiba tree (The Mayan Tree of Life) at the entrance of the village, one senses being in a different time. Here experience The 7 Moments of Maya songs, dances, rituals and ceremonies that are pure Mayan, both ancient and modern.
Day 7 - Dec. 19: Meetings all day. (Group lunch included.) Day 8 - Dec. 20: Meetings all day. (Group lunch included.) Day 9 - Dec. 21: Today is the Winter Solstice! Power Places Tours has been granted special permission to be inside Chichen-Itza for three hours early in the morning at the exact time of the Solstice, when the site is closed and otherwise off-limits to the public! A special sacred event and ceremony will take place. Final meeting and gathering and celebration this afternoon and evening! Day 10 - Dec. 22: Depart for home, transformed with a newly evolved awareness. Note About the Mayan Pyramids The Yucatan is the land of pyramids. Nowhere else on earth is there the multitude of magnificent, intact large pyramids in a relatively small area. Egypts pyramids are older, and a few of them bigger, but there are not as many intact large pyramids. Egypts pyramids are also different because of the way their energy works. Ancient Egyptian beliefs say that the pyramid brings the power of the Sun to earth, bringing the "heavens or the cosmos to earth. In the Mayan pyramids the energy is brought by the pyramid up from the earth through the top of the pyramid to the heavens. You may experience this movement of the energy as you stand by one of the pyramids, such as at Chichen-Itza. Perhaps you will feel the earth energy move up through your body as you stand next to this incredible pyramid. The energy movement created by the Yucatan pyramids is just the opposite than Egypt, which is to be expected because the two sets of pyramids are on opposite sides of earth. |
