Lessons learned from the regeneration of waterfronts in Barcelona, Marseille, Chicago and Yokohama feature on the agenda of next month’s Waterfront Expo conference in Glasgow.

Less than nine days remain to beat the deadline to register for this two day international event on 2nd and 3rd November.

Delegates will also hear first hand experience of the Edinburgh, Dundee and Clyde Waterfront regeneration projects.

Officially supported by Clyde Waterfront, Dundee Waterfront, the City of Edinburgh Council, and Glasgow City Council, the WaterfrontExpo 2011 Scotland conference & exhibition takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, SECC Glasgow.

This is the second WaterfrontExpo held in Scotland, prompted by the extensive waterfront regeneration in the three Scottish cities.

The focus of WaterfrontExpo 2011 is on the real life experience and progress of seven major cities in turning their waterfront regeneration plans into reality.

Allan McQuade, Director of Business Infrastructure at Scottish Enterprise, said: “WaterfrontExpo 2011 Scotland offers a superb combination of informative speakers, guided tours of the Clyde and Edinburgh waterfronts, as well as city workshops with developers and a civic reception in the stunning Riverside Museum.

“It’s an invaluable learning experience for city authorities and waterfront property professionals. For developers and investors seeking investment opportunities, the event will offer an excellent chance to network with existing investors and assess the investment potential of the three Scottish cities.”

The two day event incorporates exhibitor displays, international case studies, site visits, project workshops, and a Clyde river cruise. The official civic reception will be staged in the new Riverside Museum (housing Glasgow’s transport collection)  designed by world famous architect Zaha Hadid which has already attracted more than 800,000 visitors since opening on 21 June.

A number of delegate tickets remain available, priced at £250 for both days or £150 for one day. Deadline for receipt of registrations is Friday 28th October.
