About NWMAA

The NWMAA is a professional organization which seeks to improve the standards of assessing practice, to educate the taxpaying public on the true nature and importance of the work performed by assessing officers, to incorporate with other public and private agencies in improving assessment administration and to promote justice and equity in the distribution of the tax burden.

The property tax process in Michigan is the primary funding mechanism for school districts, county, city and township governments which provide services for the public.

The assessment and property tax processes in Michigan can be complicated and can seem overwhelming at times.
