Host / A debut residency @ Arthaus

‘Host’ 2012 exists as an opportunity for artists from any country or discipline to spend time away from their current environment and work on existing projects or new ideas. The residency provides an airy live/work studio that can accommodate individuals, collaborations and collectives for six weeks in the vibrant area of London Fields, East London.

GALERIE8 will contribute up to a maximum of £500 for transportation costs from the resident’s home, as well as a stipend of £350 for the duration of the residency to be used at the resident’s discretion. This programme does not cover all materials needed for the work made during the residency nor does it cover complete living expenses but the stipend can be used towards living expenses and/or materials.

Each visiting artist or group will enjoy a dynamic and vibrant period of work in which they have a live/work studio at their disposal, in order to give their projects complete focus. They will also be introduced to new contacts within the local artistic community, cultural institutions and the general public, giving the artist the chance to make great new contacts and improve their networks.

Residency conditions:
• Dates from 23rd April – 4th June 2012
• £350 stipend during the residency
• £500 towards travel to the residency
• Bicycle for travel within London during the residency

Application requirements:
• 5 images in JPEG format (800 pixels wide, 72 dpi, not exceeding 1MB)
• .mp3 and .mp4 file formats for sound/video/performance work
• 500 word statement about your practice
