The Utah Seismic Safety Commission (USSC) has been working to reduce the earthquake risk in the state since 1994. The USSC is a 15-member volunteer commission dedicated to the review and assessment of earthquake-related hazards and risks to the state of Utah and its inhabitants.

The USSC acts as a source of information for individuals and groups concerned with earthquake safety, promotes earthquake-loss-reduction measures and legislation, and implements education and awareness campaigns in order to save lives, prevent injuries, protect property, and reduce social and economic disruption from the effects of severe seismic activity in Utah.

The USSC invites citizen participation in its meetings and activities. USSC meetings are held quarterly; committee meetings are held as needed. If you wish to attend a meeting, recommend an item for consideration, or participate on a committee, please contact the USSC.
