Level 201: Intermediate Improv: Creating Characters

201: Creating Characters builds on the skills acquired from Improv 101. This class further explores character work and introduces game and beats. Prior improv training or experience is required. You'll learn more advanced techniques for telling stories and initiating, maintaining, and enriching scenes. Must have taken BIG's Intro to Improv or had similar training.

At the end of the course, BIG will help organize a showcase for family and friends so that class members can gain some performing experience. Please email info@bigimprov.org with any questions.

Instructor Bio: Megan Wills is a current member of Population: 6. She has been doing improv with BIG since 2007, when she was trained as part of BIG's Conservatory. Previously, she directed Population: 6 and serves as the director of BIG student troupe Doomhilda. In addition, she fills the roles of Photographer, Social Marketer, and Webmaster for BIG. She has studied improv with Jill Bernard of HUGE Theatre, Susan Messing of Annoyance Theatre, and Mark Sutton of The Second City. For twenty years, she was an actor and director for various community theatres in the Baltimore area. She recently co-founded The Improvocateur Podcast with Keith Becraft.
