Welcome to the

Pre-Columbian Society of Washington D.C.

The Pre-Columbian Society of Washington, D.C. (PCSWDC), is an educational organization dedicated to furthering knowledge and understanding of the peoples of the Americas before the time of Columbus. Founded in 1993, the Society provides a forum for the exchange of information regarding these pre-Columbian cultures between academic professionals and interested members of the public.

To achieve its goals the PCWDC sponsors a variety of events and activities including monthly lectures and an annual symposium, where academics and professionals in the fields of archaeology, history, art history, and anthropology present their latest research findings.

The PCSWDC welcomes all people interested in the study of the ancient Americas regardless of their level of knowledge or expertise.
