United States Government

A government is a body of people that work as legislators, administrators and arbitrators for a state or country to be able to manage the affairs in an orderly manner. The system of government that various countries have may be different. The overall objective of the government of different countries may also differ slightly. However, the main aim of most government bodies is to manage the affairs of the country and to ensure that there is law and order.

There are various kinds of government types that are possible. These include authoritarian, democratic, constitutional republic, constitutional monarchy, dictatorship, plutocracy, oligarchy and totalitarian. Even within these broad forms of government, there are various sub types that exist.

The United States of America has a government that helps manage the affairs of the 50 states that make up the country. The three main branches of the government include the legislative, the judiciary and the executive. 

The country is led by a President who is the head of the executive branch of the government. This automatically makes him the head of the state and the government. The President of the United States is also the military commander in chief and chief diplomat of the country.
